RA.One to open in 5,000 screens worldwide

Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One is all set to be the biggest Bollywood release ever opening in approximately 5000 screens worldwide. In India alone, the sci-fi flick will occupy over 3,500 screens, which is easily 30 per cent more than the last big release, Salman Khan's Bodyguard, reports Mid Day. This hasn't left much room for this week's other releases- Hema Malini's Tell Me O Kkhuda and Himesh Reshammiya's Damadamm. The tabloid quotes Ashish Saksena of Big Cinemas as saying: "Shah Rukh's track record for Diwali has been almost 100 percent. There is little chance any exhibitor would let go of the opportunity to play the movie as much as possible. We opened advance bookings for selected screens last week and they are all houseful already." Over 90% screens are reserved for SRK's superhero flick in multiplexes. "Himesh's last few films have done dismal business and Tell Me O Kkhuda doesn't stand a chance competing with RA.One when it comes to star value. So the exhibitors have reserved over 90 per cent screens for RA.One. More money the multiplex makes in the first weekend, the better revenues," trade analyst Amod Mehra told the tabloid. After extensive promotions on TV shows and across 11 cities, SRK has thrown his last success card to ensure grand opening worldwide.

'I'm misunderstood,' says Madonna as she gets booed at W.E.'s London premiere

MADONNA has been booed by the crowd at the London premiere of her directorial debut W.E. for only bothering to talk to a handful of waiting fans. The pop superstar-turned-filmmaker left many people in the crowd, some of whom had been waiting for hours, disappointed after only taking the time to chat to a few devotees before heading into the cinema, The (London) Daily Telegraph reports. W.E., co-written and directed by Madonna, focuses on Wallis Simpson, a twice-divorced American for whom King Edward VIII gave up his throne so they could marry. The film is entwined with the story of a modern-day woman obsessed with the Duchess of Windsor, which Simpson became after marrying Edward in 1937. Madonna told Sky News she could empathise with the movie's main character, Simpson, a controversial figure who was seen by many in the British establishment as an unsuitable spouse for a monarch. "I do know what it's like to be misunderstood on a global scale," she said. "She lived at a time when women didn't have opportunities like we do now. She didn't have the chance to defend herself so I'm taking that opportunity now." Madonna revealed she felt under pressure screening her movie in Britain. She told The Telegraph, "It's slightly nerve-wracking because it's about a British king, it's predominantly filmed in Britain, it's a British production, most of my actors are English and I know the British can be tough critics. But I hope they like it." The film divided critics when it was first screened at the Venice Film Festival last month, despite Madonna admitting that she took directing advice from her ex-husbands Guy Ritchie and Sean Penn.

Jennifer Lopez Gets Emotional on Stage While Singing About Lost Love

Looks like Jennifer Lopez's lyrics struck a little too close to home this past weekend because the singer burst into tears during her Saturday concert in Montville, Connecticut after singing a song about lost love. The song, One Love, paid tribute to three of J. Lo's most high-profiled relationships, which probably explains why she was overcome with such strong emotions. Throughout the song, pairs of dancers appeared on stage, dressed like Lopez with look-alikes of her past loves: Diddy, Ben Affleck, and Marc Anthony. The new single mom then spoke to the crowd, saying, "A little trip down memory lane, huh?" But it appeared to be a trip she wasn't exactly ready to take because she wiped her eyes repeatedly and then walked offstage after the song was finished. So what exactly set off the waterworks? A source close to Lopez explained, "It was the Marc part of the montage which choked her up. She can't help but feel sad over the loss of a marriage that went on for so long. She's emotional about the whole thing still." The source went on to share that, "Part of her dislikes him so much. But another part still loves him in a way, he's the father of her children. It's confusing. She's going through a whole array of emotions right now." The couple publicly announced the end of their 7 year long marriage in July. However, the American Idol judge may have a new, strong shoulder to cry on. The pop diva has been spotted dining and hanging out with the hunky Bradley Cooper over the last few months, which has drawn much speculation regarding their relationship status. If these two are officially an item, then I would consider it a huge upgrade for J.Lo!
